They discuss how being a single mom inspired her to continue her film career, the magic of WONDER WOMAN for the younger generation, her recent participation in the Women in Film and Sundance Institute Film Financing Intensive and her new feature film project, AFTER THE JUMP.
Sharri Hefner is an independent filmmaker and producer. As a member of the independent production entity Hyphenate Films, Sharri has line produced Joel Viertel’s STRICTLY SEXUAL (film and Hulu series) and guerilla marketed Mora Stephens’ CONVENTIONEERS. In addition, Sharri has produced several award-winning shorts, including Sharon Hoffman’s ALMOST, Elias Duaghdrill’s PROFESSOR, Nathan Butera’s BROTHER and Janet McIntyre’s BIRD IN HAND. Sharri has also worked as a field producer for E! ENTERTAINMENT’s TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORIES series. GEORGIA HEAT, a script Sharri wrote with fellow NYU Alum Mora Stephens, was selected for Tribeca All Access, participated in Film Independent’s Fast Track, and won Asian Cinevision. Sharri received her MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and graduated summa cum laude from California State, Long Beach. In her spare time, she teaches both writing and film for Long Beach City College and Mount Saint Mary’s University.
