In this episode of Directing Magic; Camille Brown, director of THANK YOU FOR WASHING and the independent thriller feature film, joins Marquette. THE NTH WARD, follows a woman haunted by the childhood disappearance of her parents in the lingering wake of the Hurricane Katrina. They discuss her journey from being an engineer to filmmaking and her DIY approach to producing and distribution.

Guest Biography

An award-winning filmmaker, Camille earned her Bachelor of Arts from UCLA’s prestigious Film, Television and Theater School. She made her directorial debut with her documentary A Second Chance at Life narrated by Whoopi Goldberg. The documentary went on to screen at several film festivals and winning best documentary. Camille then went on to write and direct the award-winning short film Thank You for Washing, which has screened at over 20 festivals winning best short for 10 of them. Most notable is the NBC Short Cuts Festival, from which she also received a blind script deal with the studio. She co-produced the feature film A Perfect Getaway starring Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich. Last year she was a semi-finalist for the HBO Directing Fellowship. The Nth Ward is her feature directorial debut.
